A patisserie is a type of French or Belgian bakery that specialises in pastries and sweets, as well as a term for these types of food, in English often used without the accent. In both countries, it is a legally controlled title that may only be used by bakeries that employ a licensed maître pâtissier (master pastry chef). The proposed name is a catch all for the full range of products you propose selling. It is very clear that it is a French word and illustrates the type of cuisine on offer.
The French Table has built significant equity over the past decade, known for excellent quality, authentic French Cuisine in Limerick. Associating the name of the restaurant with the new brand name will help tell a real brand story. It will connect with the true origin of where the products come from, not industrial or bought in, but from an authentic French table, linking the heritage (Thomas’s authentic French background) and current location of the business.
The Brand Identity
Following research of the look and feel of French Patisseries, we were heavily influenced by the simple fonts and delicate approach in creating a high-quality brand identity in this space.
Given the background and approach the business has taken in creating authentic hand crafted pastries, La Patisserie will be known for sharing a real French experience. The motif that sits above the font has taken inspiration from the ‘demi’ idea of individual pieces enabling customers chose form a range of ‘demi’ sized, manageable mix of classic, flavoursome French pastries.
With locations in all major cities of Ireland, we will be recognised as an authentic artisan patisserie known for giving our customers a taste sensation, something very special. A real French experience. Our products will be unique and hand crafted with simplicity and absolute consistency. We will continually strive to innovate and expand our range to include an eclectic mix of classic, flavoursome French pastries.
Our strategic recommendation was to select a location with high volumes of footfall in an affluent area. Castletroy Shopping centre in Limerick was identified as the ideal location to open a retail presence.
Activating the brand
We sourced a suitable packaging provider and worked closely with them to develop innovative solutions to protect, present and market the products effectively. We also developed a portfolio of products photos which were used across all touchpoints such as menus, signage, social media and website landing page.
